Airbrush Tanning F.A.Q.
Q) Is this like those machines that spray you?
A) No. I actually hand airbrush you. This way, we get all the nook and crannies plus there’s no streaking, coloring of the palms or bottom of the feet.
Q) Do you airbrush my face also?
A) Yes.
Q) Will this make me look orange?
A) No. I use a high quality solution which gives a very natural looking tan.
Q) How long will the tan last?
A) It will last for approximately 1 week. Chlorine, shaving lotions and anything with a high alcohol content will cause the tan to fade quicker.
Q) How long until I have color?
A) The solution contains a bronzer so you will immediately have color, although it does take 4-12 hours for the actual tan to develop.
Q) How does airbrush tanning actually work?
A) It uses an FDA approved ingredient called DHA (dihydroxy acetone) which works with your melanin and dead skin cells.
Q) Why do I need to exfoliate before doing airbrush tanning?
A) Having a build-up of dead skin cells will cause uneven tanning and the more dead skin cells you lose the faster your tan will fade.
Q) How come I can’t wear lotion the day of the tan?
A) The solution needs to be able to be absorbed by your skin. Lotion inhibits that from happening which will cause streaks and uneven tanning.
Q) I have a big event tonight; can I get a tan today?
A) I really suggest having it done a day or two before your event. Since it does have a bronzer, the bronzer will come off on the clothes you are wearing (will wash out with regular washing) but you will also feel sticky and tacky until you shower.
Q) Can I work out afterwards?
A) No. You don’t want to do anything that day which will make you sweat or come in contact with water, including working out, house cleaning or even sex. The next day you can go about your normal routine.
Q) I accidentally got a suntan and now have white marks; can you even it out for me?
A) It is very hard to even out a natural tan you already have. Even though airbrushing is very natural looking it still will not match your exact skin color.
Q) Are there different solutions for the darkness I want?
A) I use just one solution; darkness depends on how much I spray on you.
Q) Some of the bottled tans smell bad, what does this smell like?
A) I think it’s a soft powdery smell.
Q) Is there anything else I should know?
A) You need to realize that your skin has just been permeated with the solution and you will feel kind of sticky and tacky for the rest of the day, but you can go back to work, run errands or anything else…as long as it doesn’t cause you to sweat.
